Add this sweet minty herb to any pasta sauce
fresh or dried. Even try it with eggs or on a pizza
Fresh Pesto recipe
2/3 cup walnuts or pine nuts, toasted lightly
6 cups loosely packed fresh basil leaves
3 garlic cloves, chopped
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper
1 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese
Blanch basil briefly in boiling salted water to keep the colour
Blend ingredients and serve with pasta (add chicken and cream cheese for richness)
Storage
Keep refrigerated in a sealed container or in some water to prevent wilting
