Recently we received the results for the local winners of the 2014 Concours-entrepreneur contest. Unfortunately to all that have worked on this project, we were not chosen as local winners. I know many of you will be very disappointed with these results after the countless hours you have put into this project. I would just like to acknowledge and remind you what you accomplished within these few short months.
It is hard to imagine that just five months ago this project started as nothing more than an idea on a white board. Now, you have a structure capable of supporting more than 4000 lbs of water, and a business model that is providing your community with fresh lettuce and herbs on a weekly basis. To the students working on this project, I have been able to teach you the knowledge and expertise needed to operate a hydroponic based business. However, it is your hard-work, determination and drive that made this project a success. Although it may be a cliché, never forget that you truly are winners. I would also like to congratulate to the local winners of the Entrepreneurship contest. I just wanted to say congratulations to you all as well. Like Chris said you may not have won but you should certainly be very proud of your accomplishments. I looked through your total project from start to finish and I have not seen better work from adults. I am also very happy to have fresh lettuce, basil, dill, etc that I can buy on a weekly basis. Keep up your good work. It certainly does not go unnoticed!

Well said Fay. I have watched this project develop over the last few months and the extraordinary work that has gone into seeing this project to this stage is the result of a committed group of students and teacher. You all should be very proud of yourselves. Your dedication should be an inspiration for others to follow. I am very proud of you.

Congratulations. Everyone involved in this project is a winner! In fact, this is a brilliant project that should be a model for entrepreneurship. Thank you! We are really enjoying your products. Oh, by the way, all my friends are getting bored with me bragging about you!

I also want to congratulate our students and teacher on an awesome project. I have seen the long hours and hard work that you have all put into this adventure, a job well done. I am hoping that your project will continue in the years ahead. I have enjoyed all your products on a weekly basis. I look forward to each product every week. Don't let not winning first place discourage you, because you are all winners.

Congratulations Mecatina students and Mr. Wong! I am so very proud of all your accomplishments, not just the produce that you so expertly grow each week, but for all your hard work and team spirit that I know had to be contributed to achieve the results I have seen in the photos and stories. I only wish you could deliver to Chevery too, but keep up the great work... please don't give up... because I am 100% certain that in time you will accomplish this as well. For anyone who has not yet seen it, please check out the article in the April Local Wave - Vague Local (LNS newspaper). Your success is measured not by an award but by the produce and the business that you have so expertly grown for your community and region!!
